BRAIKER, a novel biosensor for brain biomarkers, won the PHD+ contest!!! This was organized by University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore, Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and IMT of Lucca as a part of the Contamination Lab initiative. This course is focused on high tech start-up, how to begin and how to make it grow. Link to the site. The winning pitch was given by Matteo Agostini who presented BRAIKER, a novel biomedical device for brain pathologies that Neurosens developed. It is based on nano-acoustics, namely acoustics exploiting nanotechnology. Thanks to nano-sensors and micro-transductors it can manipulate fluids and perform molecular assays. This lab-on-a-chip will be explored for other pathologies, too. This device was funded by the Regione Toscana project GLIOMICS for brain pathologies.
NeuroSens was present at the 2nd European Biosensor Symposium. This conference aims to stimulate exchanges among researchers working in Europe, or outside Europe, in the field of Biosensors. We recently filed a patent for a "Sensing device based on acoustic-waves for fluids analysis". With this device, we will pursue the Technology Transfer route of our results. We are really proud of this achievement! We strongly believe that the application of our results to the every-day life and the benefits for the society that we hope could originate from it are fundamental aspects of our work.

NeuroSens is going to present its newest research activities at the prestigious world congress "Biosensors 2018" that will be held in Miami (USA)! The focus of the congress will be novel, high-perfomance biosensing technologies for biomedical purposes, in the light of the precision medicine goal. Matteo will have a presentation titled A sub-nanomolar Rayleigh surface acoustic wave-based resonator biosensor, while Gina will present a poster on Surface acoustic wave (SAW)-enhanced functionalization of gold biosensing films. This is a great opportunity for us for sharing our results and discuss future projects with the best researchers in the world.
