Opto- and electro-mechanics are rapidly evolving research fields which are fully entering the quantum regime. The possibility to cool down massive objects to their fundamental state of vibration has inaugurated a new era in which the boundaries between classical and quantum mechanics can be explored and redefined.
The main purpose of this workshop is to gather young scientists who are about to start or have just started their own research groups and are at the forefront of the combined fields of opto- and electromechanics. In a stimulating environment, they will highlight their recent results and their vision for directions that are important to pursue.
The workshop is open to students, who will be active part of the discussion by presenting their original research in poster sessions. They will also take advantage of two tutorial lectures provided by prof. F. Marquardt, about the basics of optomechanics.
